Gator Fans Gather to Kickoff Season

Melbourne, FL - The Brevard County Gator Club will kickoff the 2009 college football season and celebrate last years national championship with its annual Tail “Gator” Kickoff party which will be held at Duran Golf Club, Viera, Fl on Saturday August 29, 2009. There will be a fun 9 - hole par 3 golf challenge starting at 4:00 P.M., followed by a kickoff party beginning at 5:30 P.M in the dinning room and outside portico. Both the golf challenge and kickoff party are open to the public and are family friendly events Proceeds from the events go to scholarships for local students attending the University of Florida.

There will also be a free adult golf clinic at 3:00 PM and a children’s one starting at 4:00P.M. for ticket holders. The kickoff party will include a tailgator cookout buffet, gator vendors, shopping, silent auction, raffles and kids fun zone. Club president Grady Marshall said “This family friendly event is the clubs second largest fundraising event and we are expecting our largest crowd ever because of the golfing event and clinics.

Advance tickets are on sale to the golf challenge, and are limited to 36 golfers ($20) and the Kickoff Party ($20) adults and ($12.50) Children under 12.
