BRAZILIAN WAX ...IS IT SAFE TO WAX?
There is a misconception out there, that it isn't safe to wax genital, but this isn't true. Many salons do not offer this service for men. Times have changed, getting a Brazilian wax is completely safe for men, provided that you go to a Licensed hygienic professional.
HOW MUCH HAIR WILL BE REMOVED?
Depends on your preference. Anything from a simple bikini wax in which only the hair that would be visible when wearing a bikini-style bottom is removed. Or leaving a little happy trail...Or removing all of the hair entirely.
WILL IT BE PAINFUL?
Well...removing your hair from the follicle is never going to be comfortable, techniques are used to reduce the discomfort of a Brazilian wax.
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET READY FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
First make sure you have recently showered, as clean skin is better for waxing and it will make you feel more comfortable. (Don't apply lotion after you shower this makes waxing more difficult...the wax cannot grip the hair). Make sure there is at least a quarter inch of hair before you come in for your appointment. If you usually shave, stop shaving about three weeks before your appointment. This is particularly important for male Brazilian waxes, because the hair down there usually grows slower than the rest of the body. The night before your appointment, gently exfoliate the area to prevent ingrown hairs. If you are worried about the pain, taking an OTC pain reliever may help. However wear loose comfortable clothing to your appointment, as it is important that the area breathe.
WHAT ABOUT AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?
After your Brazilian wax, you can expect some redness and puffiness around the area, but that should go down within the first 48 hours. (Within this time period, do not exfoliate your skin), as it will irritate your skin further. After that, you should exfoliate every few days to avoid ingrown hairs. Avoid baths, steam rooms, jacuzzis, and the like for 48 hours.
