The Apollo Motorcycle Club is putting on the 6th Annual "Wild Bear Safari" ADV Ride this Nov 16 and 17.
The Apollo Motorcycle Club is a dirt oriented non-profit motorcycle club that's been around since the late 60's. Every fall we do a "Adventure" Motorcycle Ride on paved and dirt roads around central FL to help raise money to pay for the land that we lease to ride dirt bikes on. The adventure rides are designed around bigger 650-1200cc adventure bikes but we get everything from 250cc enduros to GS BMW's attending our event (even some Harleys!). There's also a street only option for folks that don't want to ride any dirt (street ride is a self paced GPS track only). We provide the route sheets (and GPS tracks) for the ADV ride so everyone can go at their own pace (most people ride in small groups of 3-5 bikes). You have to provide your own route sheet holder, they can be found at local shops or on line (on E-bay search for "Route Sheet Holder Black Dual Sport Enduro Engineering 14-053").
Saturdays ride is a different ride every year. This year the route starts at the club property in Samsula, FL and follows dirt and paved roads (on the ADV option) through Seminole State Forest and up into Ocala National Forest for lunch (lunch is not provided). After lunch you ride a different way back to Samsula. The total route is around 160 miles passing by some of the most scenic area's in central FL.
Sunday you can ride your dirt bike on a one way marked trail on the club property.
If you pre-register the entry fee covers an event T-shirt, primitive camping, along with breakfast and dinner Saturday. Go to our website http://www.apollomotorcycleclub.com/ and click on the "Wild Bear Safari" event to see a flier.
