We are a bourgeoning death metal band from Brevard County seeking a bassist. Currently we have a vocalist, two guitar players and a drummer. We practice about twice a month on Sunday evenings at a spot we rent hourly near the Melbourne airport; you will be expected to chip in, but it will be no more than ten bucks per session.
Ideally we'd like a bassist, but are willing to accept a guitarist who can play bass. Must be 18+ (we're all in our 30s), have gear that can be heard over a drum kit and two half-stacks, along with reliable transportation. Ability to read/write tabs and use Guitar Pro software is a huge plus. No addicts, and please practice good personal hygiene. Sunday evening availability is a must.
Influences include Gojira, Cannibal Corpse, Death and All Shall Perish. Lots of very fast riffs, harmonies, chunky breakdowns, and no clean singing. We play in B standard tuning; this is nonnegotiable. Currently the demos are written by one of the guitar players, but all members are invited to contribute to the writing process; this is not anyone's solo project. You will have complete creative freedom to write your parts and come up with song ideas.
Mostly doing this for fun as we all have careers and families, but some touring may be in the future. We have a five songs we're currently polishing, including a cover of Death's Crystal Mountain. Our goal is to be show-ready by mid January 2026.
