HVAC Purchasing Agent
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HVAC Purchasing Agent to manage the procurement of HVAC equipment, parts, tools, and materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, inventory management, vendor negotiations, and supply chain coordination within the HVAC, construction, or mechanical contracting industry.
Key Responsibilities
• Purchase HVAC equipment, materials, and supplies to support service and installation teams.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Generate and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed.
• Coordinate deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time for scheduled projects.
• Compare supplier pricing, quality, and lead times to maximize value.
• Resolve purchasing discrepancies, shortages, and backorders.
• Work closely with project managers, warehouse personnel, and field technicians.
• Track purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Assist with budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC equipment, parts, and industry suppliers is highly preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and purchasing or ERP software.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with HVAC distributors and manufacturers.
• Inventory management experience.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and project coordination.
