Ron Jon Surf Shop, the world's best known surf shop and active lifestyle brand, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Associate to join our team. This role requires strong customer service skills and hands-on property maintenance experience to support the daily upkeep, safety, and overall appearance of our facility and grounds. The ideal candidate has experience in residential or property maintenance and can efficiently handle routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and general facility upkeep while maintaining a safe and professional environment. Pre-employment drug screening, background check, and driving record check required for this role.
Compensation dependent on experience. This position is full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt, shift hours to be discussed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform routine inspections of interior and exterior areas to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
Complete preventative maintenance and general repairs in a timely manner
Maintain store cleanliness and janitorial standards
Stock register and cleaning supplies
Trash removal and exterior grounds upkeep
Power washing and exterior cleaning
Painting and surface preparation
Minor carpentry work (hanging fixtures, changing door locks and hardware, building small fixtures, etc.)
Minor electrical maintenance (light fixture repair/replacement, bulbs, ballasts, switches)
Minor plumbing repairs (unclog drains, repair leaks, replace fixtures as needed)
Operate lifts and basic building maintenance equipment safely
Support special projects as assigned
Communicate effectively with team members and management
Respond with urgency to maintenance needs and prioritize tasks appropriately
Maintain compliance with all safety standards and company policies
High lift experience is a plus but not required.
Required Background & Skills:
Previous experience in property maintenance, apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and basic mechanical systems
Experience troubleshooting maintenance issues independently
Ability to read basic schematics or technical manuals (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements:
Work on lifts at heights up to 60 feet
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Walking, climbing, reaching, carrying, pushing
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions daily
Minimum Job Requirements:
18 years or older
Must have current/valid driver’s license.
Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
Reach, carry, bend and climb ladders occasionally
